Bet you didn't know we had a Superhero in the family

Aly turns 11!

Thanks to a fabulous big sister, Aly walked around school on her birthday with a beautiful crown, a sign that says "hug me, it's my 11th birthday!" and a bundle of balloons. Amy says its a Redwood tradition (unfortunately one that she has never experienced, having a summer birthday stinks!) Aly had a great day, dinner with the family, and two parties! Birthday week extravaganza!

My baby starts Kindergarten!

Wow- time has really flown by and the baby is 5- ready to start Kindergarten. I enjoyed the past three weeks alone with him since the girls started school so much earlier.  But he is ready to go- excited for school, new friends, and new adventures.

Brandon's first soccer game!

Today was opening day. Brandon got to play in his first soccer game and he loved it. Aside from turning a few cartwheels and forgetting that he can't pick up the ball when it comes to him, and taking a kick to the nose, he had a blast!! Ashlyn's game got cancelled when a quick lightening storm got a bit close and they had to clear the fields due to all those darn metal light poles! 

New lens

I am so thrilled with a new lens I got for my camera!! I am taking tons of pictures and just loving the effect.  Here are some shots I like- notice all the veggies from our garden! We have an amazing crop of Crookneck Squash, Zuccini, and green apples.  We also have some jalapeño peppers, bell peppers, green onions, etc.  I found two nice pears on the pear tree today and we have more apples than we can possibly eat! So fun to grow our own food!!

Ashlyn's horseback riding lesson

For Ashlyn's 9th birthday I promised to take her horseback riding. She has anxiously awaited the day and it finally happened. This is Ashlyn at Elvenstar, riding Cinnamon. She did great and loved it!

Hayley's 4th and Tyler's 18th

Lots of August birthdays in the Holt family, and we got to celebrate Hayley's 4th at the park and Tyler's 18th at our house later that night. Had a great time at both!
